“Free Speech For Me, But Not For Thee”

“These are the sensitive liberal people who are always yelling about everyone’s freedom of speech and expression, unless you happen to say something that PISSES ‘EM OFF–then they can’t wait to tie your ass to the back bumper of a Toyota Hybrid and drag you to the Berkeley campus and drop your carcass off in front of the Fidel Castro building for the continuing study of Why America Sucks.” —Richard Jeni
Let’s drop the pretense that NPR’s firing of Juan Williams is about bigotry, shall we?
“NPR’s Mara Liasson and her long-running association with Fox News has often raised questions. This might be the proper time for NPR to finally address that thorny issue,” wrote Media Matters columnist Eric Boehlert Thursday in a post entitled “What about Mara Liasson?” “[I]f you look at NPR’s code of ethics, there’s simply no way Liasson should be making appearances on Fox.”
Because, you see, NPR has a very strict adherence to journalistic integrity and objectivity:
By Wednesday afternoon, NPR had tossed aside the longtime contributor and analyst, saying he had violated ethics rules that prohibit its contributors from showing their personal biases or even going on shows “that encourage punditry and speculation rather than fact-based analysis.”
If you’ve ever listened to NPR, you may have done a Danny Thomas spit take at the laughable implied assertion that NPR talking voiceboxes are objective and free of punditry. My apologies, doubly so if Danny Schorr or Nina Totebag came to mind.
And the intimation by NPR’s CEO that Mr. Williams had evinced a need for intervention by a mental health professional was positively Soviet.
But not to be outdone, Google News brings us what they apparently thought to be the most pithy and newsworthy quote of the day, courtesy of none other than a Muslim Brotherhood-connected mouthpiece for Wahhabist jihad (stealth and otherwise), Ibrahim Hooper:
And so, you see, the Left media outlets are purging anyone who dares utter a peep about anything real. In the name of objectivity.
All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.
But let us praise them for their transparency, for the Left is inherently fascistic. Speech codes are fascistic. Government control of the economy and culture are fascistic.
They are fascists. America will not abide fascism.
And I don’t even like Juan Williams. Bigotry my ass. Aveda King is a bigot. Juan Williams is a bigot. Everybody’s a damn bigot.
MSM doesn’t matter anymore. Take heart. NPR and CPB and NEA and all this crap will fall away.
